Position Summary and Duties

Responsible for performing light shuttle and vehicle maintenance, issuing Motor Pool vehicles, and covering Jenkins lot parking booth during staff breaks. The incumbent will also drive CDL buses and shuttles to cover university charters and shuttle routes as needed.
The position schedule is Wed – Sun, 12pm – 8:30pm, Weekend Hours Flexible, Summer / Holiday Hours, M-F, 8am – 5:30pm
Duties:
– Perform light maintenance on Motor Pool and shuttle fleets (including bulbs, tires, batteries, etc.)
- Clean, fuel and maintain Motor Pool fleet daily
- Track and schedule preventive maintenance and emissions testing
- Perform weekly safety checks on all vehicles and facilitate repairs
- Update monthly vehicle maintenance reports
– Drive campus shuttles and charters as needed
- Safely drive our students, faculty and staff around campus and other locations as needed, following all campus and CDL regulations in our 14, 25 and 40 passenger buses
- Ensure a safe, welcoming and comfortable experience for our passengers
- Perform all CDL driver requirements, including daily fueling, cleaning, driver related maintenance, pre and post trip inspections, and yearly physicals
- Provide superior customer service by having a friendly disposition, keeping the bus at a comfortable temperature, and providing a smooth ride.
- Being a team member by being courteous to the other drivers and staff, clear and timely communication, reporting on time and keeping an eye out for safety issues
– Issue Motor Pool vehicles and rentals to campus community
- Check vehicles in and out
- Use computer reservation system to check vehicle reservations
- Work with Enterprise for rental vehicles

Required Qualifications

- At least three years of experience with light vehicle maintenance
– A minimum of two years driving experience
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with B, P and Air Brake endorsements and a good driving record
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to problem solve and work independently
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Flexibility in work schedule a must
- Great customer service skills
- Knowledge of all areas we operate in
- Team Player
- Experience working within a University setting.
