Position Summary and Duties

Loyola University Maryland is seeking part-time Assistant Coach for Men’s Club Ice Hockey

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Develop and improve participant sport skills
•Assist club officers in scheduling games
•Coordinate practices and game schedules
•Assist club officers with budget management
•Attend and supervise a majority of games and practices, including evenings and weekends
•Promote good sportsmanship on and off the field
•Abide by all University/Club Sport rules and regulations, including the Employee Handbook and Club Sport Handbook
•Submit coaching contracts and other paperwork when necessary
•Communicate with Assistant Director of Recreational Sports, Club Sports and Intramurals as needed on issues associated with the club or any of its participants. These issues include, but are not limited to:
o Travel concerns
o Injuries
o Equipment
o Administrative tasks and responsibilities

Required Qualifications

•Experience with Ice Hockey, either coaching or playing
•Strong leadership and communication skills
•Ability to work well with others within a team focused environment
•Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
